Three-month content plan — Demo Corporate Video Co
Market: Australia (au). Research: 2026-08-25, Ahrefs. Plan covers: September–November 2026.
Every volume and difficulty figure below comes from the keyword research in 01-keywords.md. The ordering, the page decisions and the judgements about what is winnable are ours, and are marked as such.
The opportunity
The obvious target is the wrong one. video production melbourne carries the most local demand at 700 searches a month, and at KD 71 a studio with no established rankings will not take it — so the plan starts where the difficulty is near zero and the demand is real.
Four clusters came out of the research, spanning 21 keywords. Two of them, event videographer melbourne (200, KD 0) and explainer video melbourne (150, KD 3), are services the client already sells and almost nobody is defending. Those pay first and make the harder pages plausible later.
The money term, corporate video production melbourne (400, KD 36), is winnable but not instantly.
The plan
| Month | Asset | Type | Cluster | Target keyword | Volume | KD | Page status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sep | Event videography, Melbourne | Service page | c4 | event videographer melbourne | 200 | 0 | New |
| Sep | Social set | LinkedIn + Instagram + carousel | c4 | — | — | — | Supports the above |
| Oct | Corporate video production, Melbourne | Service page | c1 | corporate video production melbourne | 400 | 36 | New |
| Oct | What a corporate video costs | Blog | c3 | how much does a corporate video cost | 80 | – | New |
| Nov | Corporate video production: the guide | Pillar page | c3 | corporate video production | 500 | 28 | New |
| Nov | Newsletter | c3 | — | — | — | Points at the pillar |
In the current engagement: one service page, one pillar, one blog, one social set, one newsletter — matching brief.md. That is the October service page, the November pillar, the October blog, and the two supporting assets.
Recommended beyond it: the September event-videography page, and an explainer-video page (explainer video melbourne, 150, KD 3). Both are cheap to produce and are the fastest route to a first ranking. Flagging them rather than quietly adding them to the scope.
Why this order
Rankings compound, so buy the cheap ones first. A site with nothing ranking has no signal to lend its harder pages. event videographer melbourne at KD 0 and explainer video melbourne at KD 3 are the two lowest-difficulty terms in the entire pull, against 200 and 150 searches a month. They are not big numbers. They are numbers the client can actually have this quarter.
Then the page the business is paid for. corporate video production melbourne is an exact match for the flagship service, carries local intent, and at KD 36 is a fair fight once the c4 pages have landed.
The pillar last, because it is the slowest and the most valuable. corporate video production shows traffic potential of 800 against a volume of 500 — the widest gap in the research, and the signal that one strong page can rank for a long tail beyond its own term. It also gives the two service pages something authoritative to link back to, which is the wrong way round if it is built first and has nothing pointing at it.
The cost blog sits between them deliberately. how much does a corporate video cost is the only question in the whole market with measurable demand, and price is the objection that kills enquiries before they arrive. It is also the natural internal link from both service pages.
What we are not chasing
| Term | Volume | KD | Why not |
|---|---|---|---|
| video production melbourne | 700 | 71 | The biggest local term and the one every brief asks for. Not winnable from a standing start. Revisit in a year if the c1 and c4 pages rank |
| video production company melbourne | 450 | 59 | Same fight, slightly smaller. Same answer |
| corporate video production services | 900 | 35 | Highest volume in the research, but national rather than local — it competes on service depth against incumbents with far more authority. Only worth building if the client wants national reach |
| Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast terms | 100–300 each | – | Real demand, wrong city. The client is Melbourne-only |
| brand film | 10 | – | The industry's own word for the product is not a word buyers search. Keep it out of page titles |
| corporate video cost | 0 | – | Zero volume, while how much does a corporate video cost returns 80. Write the question, not the phrase |
Also not doing: a long FAQ block on the pillar. A questions-mode pull returned 13 terms and 12 of them have zero volume in Australia. The pillar answers the cost question and explains the process, and stops there rather than padding with questions nobody asks.
What success looks like
Honestly: we cannot measure it properly yet. Pickle has no Google Search Console access for this client, so there is no first-party data — no clicks, no impressions, no actual positions. Everything in this plan is built on Ahrefs estimates, and Ahrefs models search volume rather than measuring it.
What that means in practice:
- We can say a page ranks, by checking. We cannot say how much traffic it brought.
- Any traffic number quoted before Search Console is connected is an estimate, and should be called
one in front of the client.
- Connecting Search Console is the single highest-value thing on this list, and it costs nothing.
Realistic markers for the quarter, stated as expectations rather than promises:
- By end of October — the event videography page indexed and ranking for its own term. KD 0 means
weeks, not months.
- By end of November — the Melbourne corporate video page on page two or better, moving.
- The pillar will not have paid off by November. Long-form informational pages take longer than a
quarter. Judge it in February.
