Social posts — the corporate video cost question

Two quotes for the same corporate video came back at half the difference of each other.
Neither company was wrong. They had quoted different jobs.
One had priced two shoot days. The other had priced one. One included the script. The other assumed you would write it. One delivered a film. The other delivered a film plus six vertical cutdowns.
None of that is visible on a headline number, which is why comparing quotes on price alone tells you almost nothing.
Before you compare, get every quote onto the same basis on five points:
— Is the script included? — How many shoot days? — How many revision rounds? — What exactly is delivered — how many videos, what lengths, what aspect ratios? — Who actually does the work, or is any of it subcontracted?
The thing that barely matters is the one people ask about first: the equipment. A camera model has almost never explained a price gap.
What is the most surprising line item you have seen on a production quote?

The cheapest quote is usually the one that quietly left something out.
Normally the script. Sometimes the revision rounds. Very often the social cutdowns — because one film is one edit, and one film plus six vertical clips is two.
None of it shows up on the headline number.
Five things to line up before you compare any video quote: the script, the shoot days, the revision rounds, what actually gets delivered, and who does the work.
